hello@whatmichaelsaid.comThe moment of deciding you need help is often the hardest part. If you're here, you've already done that. What comes next is simpler than it might feel right now.
When you book via Calendly or email me at hello@whatmichaelsaid.com, here's what you can expect:
Within 24 hours — I'll confirm your booking or respond to your email. If you've written to me, we'll arrange a brief introductory call so we can get a sense of each other before committing to a first session.
First session — Usually available within the week. In person at Demajo Medical in Mellieħa, Malta, or online wherever you are in Europe. Sessions are 50 minutes.
No pressure, no commitment — The first session is a chance for both of us to decide whether working together makes sense. You don't need to have anything figured out before you arrive.
If you can't easily get to Mellieħa, online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for most presentations — and it's often quicker to arrange. All you need is a private space (not a car or a shared room) and a stable internet connection. I see clients across Malta, and online across Europe.
A lot of people hold off on booking because they're not sure how to explain what they're going through. You don't need to. "I'm not doing well and I'm not sure why" is a perfectly complete starting point. The conversation will find what it needs to find.
You also don't need to have tried everything else first. Therapy isn't a last resort — it's a place to understand yourself better, and that's useful at any point.
I'm Michael Said, a PPBM 494 warranted psychotherapist based in Mellieħa, Malta. I work with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, disordered eating, addictions, identity and sexuality, difficult childhoods, and sports-related mental health. I work from a Gestalt framework, which means sessions are unscripted and focused on what's actually happening for you — not a checklist.
If you're not sure whether what you're going through fits, reach out anyway. It almost certainly does.
